Vancouver - 2016
Read MoreThere were several signs with some (I assume) Inuit names for things. I think someone had a stroke when they named this mountain. I loved the fact that they use 7's as letters (you see this often). I was also on the lookout for lightning snakes after this. I don't know what they are, but they sound terrifying!
After hiking on the mountain, I drove up the road a ways to Whistler. This is the site of the skiing/bobsledding/etc... parts of the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. It's a fancy-shmancy place that is way to pricy for little old me. I bet this place is hopping in the winter time though - it'd be a great place to visit (if you want to contribute to my Whistler Skiing Trip fund, please indicate so below in the comments!)
This is the view I got from the balcony of my hotel room. My hotel was right next to a market that contained a water taxi that would take you to the main bit of town. I got to see giant container ships going by at all hours and seaplanes landing in front of me often. Stanley Park is the darker section of land to the right.
The album ends where it started, the Vancouver Airport. I actually complemented the security guy at the X-Ray booth. I told him that everyone at this airport is so much nicer than the TSA is in America. One cool thing about Vancouver is that you acually clear into the US at the airport, so you arrive to your American airport as a domestic flight. They actually have separated the internation section of the airport into the US section and the "Everywhere Else" sections. In this shot, you can actually see eagle from the pond scene from the first picture in this album.
