Zurich: Arrival to Zurich, had to take a fun selfie in front of the train stations. I saw many train stations during the trip!
Zurich: Cool bridge and church.
Zurich: Nice fountain in a town square
Mürren: I travelled to a town that you could only reach by cablecar. The only sounds that you heard at night were the rushing waters of the nearby streams and the cowbells ringing as the cows and sheep moved about the hills. This nice rainbow greated me as I arrived!
Mürren: I took a hike down to Gimmelwald after I got checked in. Nice views!
Mürren: This house had a sweet collection of cowbells on the side.
Mürren: A view from above the town of Gimmelwald.
Mürren: Nice house
Mürren: A view from above the town of Mürren. Cablecars are everwhere - they are the way to get around.
Mürren: Don't trip while hiking!
Mürren: Nice views on a hike
Mürren: The three big peaks that dominated the skyline were (from left to right) Mt. Eiger, Mt. Mönch, and Mt. Jungfrau
Mürren This cablecar was on its way to Schilthorn - a nearby mountain. I'd ride it up later that day.
Mürren: Mt. Eiger and Mt. Mönch
Mürren: Mt. Jungfrau
Mürren: Nice view of the town of Mürren with the valley below and the giant mountains above.
Mürren: There were paragliders sailing around all the time. It looked like a ton of fun (something to try on my next trip!)
Mürren: Cows were everywhere. Note the sweet cowbells.
Schilthorn: This mountain above Mürren was above the clouds when I visited it. It was a neat experience to be in a cablecar as it pierces out the top of the clouds to be surrounding by Alps on all sides!
Schilthorn: Alps
Schilthorn: The structure at the top of the mountain was used in a Bond film (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) as Blofeld's hideout. The had a ton of Bond memorabilia, even a little museum showing information about the filming.
Schilthorn: Me and the Mountains!
Schilthorn: At the middle cablecar station, there was a "Thrill Walk". Normally, it'd probably much scarier, as the clouds hid a very steep drop. It was pretty cool regardless.
Schilthorn: One section of the Thrill Walk involved walking over open space on a single cable.
Schilthorn: Another area of the Thrill Walk had you climb through a chain link tunnel, with nothing else supporting you from a great fall.
Mürren: I loved relaxing on my hotel room's balcony. The hotel was situated on the edge of the cliff, there was no other buildings to get in the way of an incredible view.
Mürren: More cows!
Lauterbrunnen Valley: I spent some time walking through the valley below Mürren before I headed to my next stop.
Mürren: Nice sillouette of the mountains on my last morning in town.
Trummelbach Falls: The falls are glacier runoff that flow through the mountain itself. The path takes you into the mountain past many impressive falls. The sound is what I remember the most...the mountain itself was reverberating with the sound of the falls.
Lauterbrunnen Valley: Nice view from the top of the falls.
Lauterbrunnen Valley: Naked sheep!
Lauterbrunnen Valley: On my walk I came across a vending machine by a farm. Instead of selling Cokes, they were selling items such as cheese, eggs, sausage, etc... Pretty cool!
Lauterbrunnen Valley: I could handle living here.
Lauterbrunnen Valley: Nice waterfall coming down the cliff.
Lauterbrunnen Valley: This is the town of Lauterbrunnen...very picturesque town.
Lauterbrunnen Valley: The waterfall actually had a path to get behind it...pretty neat!
Lauterbrunnen Valley: Nice
Interlaken: Shot from the town of Interlaken. The color of the water was just beautiful.
Geneva: Many sailboats dotted the shores of Geneva.
Geneva: More sailboats
Geneva: The skyline of Geneva is dominated by the Jet d'Eau. This fountain throws water up in the air 140m (460 ft). It's seriously impressive and very difficult to photograph because it's tough to understand the immense scale of the jet.
Geneva: Bridge with flags.
Geneva: The St. Pierre Cathedral. It was famously led by John Calvin many moons ago. Very basic inside, contrasting with the Catholic churches of the day (which was sort of the point...)
Geneva: John Calvin's chair.
Geneva: A view from the top of the bell tower at St. Pierre's Cathedral.
Geneva: Very nice stained glass window
CERN: CERN! This is one of the most important scientific sites in the world. Famously housing the Large Hadron Collider.
